After a night at the movie theater parking lot we headed to downtown Springfield Illinois to see some Lincoln stuff. They have a little bit of Lincoln history in this town.

The Lincoln Museum dis not disappoint. There was so much to see and of course, the gift shop was a must stop for a magnet for the refrigerator. I think we will need a bigger refrigerator soon.

A full day of learning about Lincoln's life and we were ready to relax. A stop at the Springfield beer company for a game of cribbage and a beverage before we would turn in. But the owner of the empty parking lot of the AMC Cinema nearby demanded we go elsewhere. No wonder they have only 2 out of 5 stars. Maybe they need to be a little less mean.
The history of this era was sad. Lots of suffering.

We tried to stay at the Springfield Beer Company parking where we were allowed but there is a fast food joint right next door and the constant traffic was not very relaxing. Don't worry, I have a plan. We were able to park at a trailhead. Sangamon Valley Trail Parking Lot. It was even near a dog park which we would have to explore tomorrow.
