Day 18: settling into Cabo Pulmo March 21

We had no where we needed to be today so we had a leisurely day. We got showers, did laundry, caught up on tasks and took a walk on the beach.

Lincoln is having such trouble walking but we made it to the beach to get him into the ocean. He used to love the beach and run up and down the sandy shore. But he can't any longer. He is happy to just hang out on his bed.

Comet got to stretch her legs abit after I woke her up. I did some bird watching today and we had a road runner come right up near the RV.
A couple from Switzerland rolled into the campground and we did our best to welcome them and direct them to the various options. I told them that Leo the caretaker would be back soon and he would come talk to them. They had a really tall RV too so I wasn't sure that they could fit under the palapa, but they made it. I guess their RV was shorter or they are more daring. They will be headed to Mazatlan via a ferry out of La.Paz.
There are 2 things from our previous trip to Cabo Pulmo that tested our preparedness. We got stuck in the sand in our motorhome when we arrived and we developed à slow leak in our tire as we were leaving. With the help of Randy and Kim, who called around to find someone to help, we got unstuck. Our slow leak was a challenge when no one was open on Easter week-end so we had to keep driving on one of the low tires of our rear duelies.
Both of our predicaments were remedied this year with suggestions from family members. Nephew Chris said get sand boards. Check. Brother David said get a tire repair kit. Check. Let's hope we need neither this time. But it resulted in us meeting Randy and Kim, owners of The Last Place where we are staying.

About 5pm Randy and Kim arrived from their adventures. Apparently they got stuck in the sand in their RV somewhere north of La Paz and had to walk 5 miles to get help. They were pretty beat. They were glad to see us as were we to see them. They had seafood and invited us over and so after while we headed over with some chips and salsa, rice, and cheese. Their buddy Brian was there. We met him last year. I guess we were all eager to hear their story of the adventure. The seafood was shrimp and it was delicious.
We heard lively conversations. Their friend Pepe arrived also. Pepe had taken them to see whales a few weeks ago and Kim shared the awesome video of humpback whales they saw jumping out of the water and the baby whale that was also nearby. Randy was very willing to share the adventure and he was ready to show us cool stuff in the area if we were.game.
Apparently we are going to a party tomorrow at the Goat Lady's house. The woman has lived here for over 30 years and raises goats for the milk. There will be music and a fee for the food and beverage.
Should be interesting.
The weather looks like it will be perfect for the near future.
