We got over the passes with ease and no snow listening to our favorite musician living in Redding. Shasta Lake looks pretty full these days. The boats are not sitting on dry land. California hail storm was the weather excitement of the day. Trying to make it as far as possible so we stopped at a truck stop and ate a nice meal at Denny's. Ahhh sleep.

Day 1 And so it begins....
Another adventure begins despite the delay. It turns out an extra day is helpful. We should always plan a to leave a day earlier than what we would like. A couple of differences on this dusty trail wagon train.. We have additional trail members. Diana Pace is following along in her car and we have the whole family. Comet, the traveling kitty is along for the adventure as well. She does not like the driving but is happy with the snuggle time.
