Day 11 Guerrero Negro to San Ignatio

We got up and emptied what needed to be emptied and filled what needed to be filled, even got propane which we needed badly. We are all set for a couple of days.
I realize a couple things recently. I seemed to be in a tense mood when we arrive at our destination each day. I think it was because for several hours I was clenching, and I don't mean my teeth. Those narrow roads with no shoulder and a steep drop-off can give the passenger a sense of doom.
Kasey seems to be a casual driver with little contact between his hands and the wheel, something that makes me quite uncomfortable.
That coupled with the fact that it felt that we were going way too fast for the type of road made me stressed. As it turns out, we WERE actually going too fast. Kasey thought 70 was about 55 mph. Once I explained that it was a metric thing and should be 45 ish, and the inside numbers of the odometer were useful for for that, he said they were hard to see. So me being helpful as I am accustomed to be, translated kph to mph. What a difference that made. I don't know how many times I have heard him say that he would "keep it under 80." Well it depends on which country. Reminders are frequent that people die on these roads. There are many roadsigns that are bent over because vehicles strike them. I don't have a picture. I will have to add that later.

Not all the roads are narrow but there are hazards frequently.
There is a lot to see along these routes.  People selling food out of trucks. Signs and new construction. Closed businesses and fresh paint.
We arrived at our little oasis campground, Paraiso Misional, in San Ignatio and set up. It is a nicely kept campground with grass and a free dog if you like.
The town is small and easily seen in a few hundred steps. We visited the church located in the town center. First time I have been to church in a while.
We had dinner and a margarita at the local establishment where we enjoyed live music and trying on hats. Diana really likes the margaritas.
Our night was capped with family time. The Irish Setter bookend are a lovely touch to the motorhome.

Boardman, OR to home Spt 26 2024

Unfortunately some locals at 5 am decided to be assholes and went roaring by us making sure they disturbed our slumber. But on the plus side...
