Day 20 - Cabo Pulmo "Pure Wonderment"

I have been unable to find a translation of "Cabo Pulmo" tɔ English but to me this place is "Pure Wonderment". The picture above is the sunrise (left) sunset (top right) and moonrise (bottom right).
We had a slow day today. Janice was a little under the weather so we just kicked back and relaxed. We took an early morning walk with the dogs. We sat outside and had breakfast and coffee and caught up on things on our phones. After lunch we had a siesta.
We are so amazed at how perfect it is here. We saw maybe 25 people all day between the campground, walks on the beach and a walk into town. It is as laid back as it can get.
I was able to have my weekly zoom with my Son, Nick and GrandKids. It was fun to sit outside and talk to him and give him an update on our adventure. I hope they will visit this special place one day.

We walked 1/3 mile into Cabo Pulmo. Janice walked ahead to birdwatch and the Boys and their new Friend, Dude trailed behind. On a a little path beside the road, there was an abandoned car stuck in the sand and and I joked "That could have been us if we didn't get rescued yesterday." On the window was lettering in Spanish "Si salgo y no regresso fui con deos." English translation, "If I go out and don't come back I went with God."
We checked out the times for snorkeling trips tomorrow. It was too windy the last two days but tomorrow looks good if Janice feels better.
We hiked back up the beach. The Boys think this is puppy paradise and we agree.
When we returned Kim and  Randy joined us for happy hour and we were joined by another couple staying in the campground, Erica and Wayne who are from Montana. We share our amazement at being here. As we talked the moonrise started coming up over the Gulf of California.

Janice and I joined Kim and Randy  up on the roof of their home to watch the moonrise and look at the moon through Randy's telescope. It was a wonderful day, except for Janice not feeling well.

Boardman, OR to home Spt 26 2024

Unfortunately some locals at 5 am decided to be assholes and went roaring by us making sure they disturbed our slumber. But on the plus side...
